Pricing: Bare-eyed Cockatoos are somewhat rare in the pet trade, but their popularity has been increasing. Loudness: Cockatoos, especially Umbrellas, are among the loudest of the parrot species, so if you're sensitive to noise we would suggest looking into another species. Bare-eyed Cockatoos will typically develop a small vocabulary of 5 or 6 of their favorite words and phrases, and males can get a little aggressive after 6-7 years They can learn to speak, but are often difficult to understand. For this reason, we recommend a large variety of toys and plenty of supervision during play time. Anything and everything is a toy to them especially if you don't want them to have it. They are extremely playful and acrobatic. If you are unable to devote at least 4 hours of quality time to your parrot each day, then a Bare-eyed Cockatoo is not for you. Although the Bare-eyed Cockatoo can be slightly more independent than other Cockatoos, they still need a lot of attention. Bare-eyed Cockatoos are less demanding and noisy than most of the other Cockatoo species, and are loved for their clownish, affectionate personalities. All Cockatoos have this bare area, but the skin is swollen on a Bare-eyed. They get their name from the bare patch of blue skin around their eyes. Just like the Goffin's Cockatoo, they have a tiny little crest, resembling a shark's fin, which stands up when they are surprised or excited. They are entirely white or pinkish in color, except for the splash of orange near their beak. Bare-eyed Cockatoos are roughly the same size and shape as the Goffin's Cockatoo.
